Sudbury Community Health Centre

The new healthcare facility is located on the North Eastern edge of Sudbury adjacent to Waldingfield Road and Church Field Road with an area of 1.42 hectares (3.5 acres). The new building provides a setting to deliver modern health services, whilst acting as a catalyst for effecting efficient healthcare delivery to the local community. Services include GPs, outpatients, dental, podiatry, diagnostics, therapies, counselling and community nursing.

The concept for the design of the primary care centre is to create a compact building based around a simple spine with wings which provide flexible access and layout options. The spine is the organizational feature of the design with the wings subordinate to this. The building disposition reflects our belief that as a prominent public facility, the primary care centre should be visible and of high quality.
